Official Launch of new IS09001 scheme for small businesses

Avid readers of the BAWE newsletter will remember reading advance information on a new, low cost IS09001 scheme for the smaller business.

On Monday 13th June at the Institute of Directors in London Simon Juden, the Chairman of the Professional Contractors Group presented to a key audience the first businesses to have completed the PCG QS IS09000 certification.

IS09001 certification provides national and international recognition by customers who demand certification, gives a competitive advantage, demonstrates your company’s commitment to providing your customers with a high level of service and improves your company’s image as being pro-active and growth oriented.

Stuart Mealing, MD of Transsol Ltd was the first business to be awarded the IS09001 certification, and directly as a result was awarded a contract by Network Rail for safety work on the UK West Coast Route Modernisation project. Transsol Ltd would not have been able to bid for this project without IS09001 certification.

The PCG QS certification costs only £1,300 - a substantial saving with no loss of quality or professional standing. Stuart was pleased to commit to the PCG QS Certification scheme.

Obituary

Eugenie Burgholte-Kellerman
Eugenie Burgholte-Kellerman
03.09.1933 - 11.04.2005

BAWE is saddened by the death of our Friend, Ex President of VDU, Vice President of FCEM in 1990-1996 and Commissioner for Europe.

Mrs Burgholte-Kellerman was an example for not only the German but also the International Business Women from around the world.

She never said "No", but was always ready to put necessary actions into place, when asked.

Her example motivated us all and her advice was always freely given. She will be missed by all of us.
